Dear Ed:
I have just returned from Moscow where I spoke with Spasski and put him the question you
asked me to do. I told him he could earn a "fortune" when he would be willing to play in U.S.A.
However, he would not or he could not and he begged me not to touch the subject when speaking
with his Federation. So, further efforts must be considered as useless. It is a pity but I don't see
what we can do else. I have confidence that we shall have from Europe a reasonable high offer -
although so far I have nothing received.
