Welcome to the ChessCafe.com Video Spotlight. Each Wednesday and Saturday we will feature a chess related video for your entertainment.

Today’s video features footage from Game 23 of the Kasparov-Karpov match in Seville. According to the tournament book by Keene, Goodman, and Spanier, Kasparov "suddenly went berserk" and "quite unnecessarily sacrificed a rook on move 50 - although this was spectacular it was absolutely unsound and Karpov promptly refuted it with a coup with his bishop on move 53." Kasparov then went on to defeat Karpov in the 24th game to retain the title.

Also, watch for our very own Geurt Gijssen, who was the match arbiter. He speaks (in Dutch) right at the beginning of this video and makes his appearance around the 3:10 mark.
